Ming Dynasty Coins. Ming Rebels Coins. LiYong Tong Bao. pp 8A.
LiYong Tong Bao was issued by Wu SanGui, a Ming General who betrayed the Ming Emperor. In 1644, he allied with the Manchu Qing forces and he was responsible for the opening of the Shanhai Pass which helped the Manchu forces to defect the Ming army. For this, Wu SanGui was conferred the title "Prince of PingXi" and was granted power and control over Yunnan and Guizhou. A series of coins were issued by Wu SanGui : 1. LiYong Tong Bao in 1674. 2. ZhaoWu Tong Bao in 1678. 3. HongHua Tong Bao in 1678.
